Farewell Mr Kafumbi Njewa

The General Assembly of CCAP gives thanks for the life of Mr Kafumbi Njewa following his passing. It is very sad for all those of us who have worshipped and served alongside Dada Njewa, yet we can celebrate his life and service for the Lord.

As a layman, he was very dedicated to the work of our Lord. He was a caretaker of the almost abandoned General Assembly during a challenging period for the CCAP. He worked very well with the General Assembly officials in a very humble manner and with a high degree of dedication. Right Revs. Chingota, TPK Nyasulu, Rev. Chatha Mbiyang’ambe and many others will bear witness to his service to the church.

Having a media background from his work at Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, he assisted very much in matters of publicity and all other communications.

It had been our hope that we would draw on his wisdom, experience and knowledge as we prepare to celebrate 100 years of CCAP. Sadly He is gone but to be with the Lord. May the spirit of Dada Kafumbi Njewa reign in Eternal peace. We will always remember your good works and life.

Wilson Kafumbi Njewa, born on 2 February 1938, will be laid to rest on Monday 23 January 2023 at Area 18 Cemetery in Lilongwe.
He is survived by four children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
