From 1st May 2024, the CCAP General Assembly, led by the Secretary General, Rev Dr Chilongozi, conducted a three-day workshop with female ministers and leaders of the Synod of Livingstonia.
The workshop’s main aim was to address some of the issues women face while serving in different roles within the church. The women also had an opportunity to learn about different topics, including entrepreneurship and academic studies.
The workshop included a number of practical activities, including a visit to a farming business to appreciate how others are taking entrepreneurial approaches that could be applied in their own businesses. At the farm, they learnt how fish farming works, and they also appreciated banana, sugar cane, and cow farming.
Adopting entrepreneurial approaches can help women to sustain themselves while in education or serving in ministry. These are also key skills for mobilising resources for ministry.
Apart from entrepreneurship, the leaders also learnt how to excel academically. Dr Joyce Mlenga was the facilitator on this topic, and she emphasized how academic papers are written and how they can publish books.
The main aim of this workshop was to empower female ministers with different skills so that they can be independent and know how to tackle issues that they are facing in the synod as a whole.
